Photostory 3

A must for the classroom, whatever age you're teaching - Photostory 3 allows you to create a storyboard of pictures and digital photographs and combine them with text and music to create a 'movie type experience'.

If you haven't used it with your class already you will be blown away by the potential it has for teaching and learning. With Foundation stage I have used it to create a Photostory of 'Spring has sprung!' where the children took digital photographs of spring features around the school, added appropriate 'spring like' music and narrated some of the photographs. With Year 1 and 2, I used Photostory to show the children about the life cycle of a caterpillar to a butterfly. Later on in the term, the same children worked in pairs to create their own Photostory of 'Seasides in the past'. At KS2, Photostory can be a great assessment tool. It can be used by the teacher to introduce a topic, unit or concept and the by the children at then end to show what they have understood. I have used it with Years 5 and 6 to create a Photostory on 'The Vikings'.

Photostory 3 can be downloaded here. Note that it needs Windows Media Player 10 to run.

Please email me if you have used this successfully in your classroom already.
